Default Semi-complicated Serial Key Question

Okay, please forgive me if this has been asked elsewhere but I'm finding it difficult to locate one particular area for questions like these.

I bought Guild Wars (the base game) and Eye of the North from a local store before Christmas, deciding to give it a shot. I played for a bit before deciding that I really liked it and wanted to purchase the other EPs. Unfortunately, the store didn't have them at all so I went with the cheapest option available to me (which was to purchase the Trilogy that includes the base game).

Is it possible to have my current Prophecies serial key transferred to another account or removed entirely when I get my Trilogy set installed? It's kind of a waste to have paid for two keys that will unlock the same thing (Prophecies).

Or will the Trilogy key simply overwrite the old one so it can be reused?

im pretty sure it will overwrite it

however...if u dun mind losing progress on ur current characters
u can jus open up a brand new account
(keep the 2nd account for storage purposes or dual-boxing and wut nots)

only thing would be that u'd have to buy eotn again
but its pretty cheap at only $10

Try forwarding the request through the official Guildwars site. The customer service staff should be able to figure out the best option for you.

But yeah, the best solution is just to move onto the new account (keep it seperate) and move whatever gold/items you want to the new account.

You have two options:

1. Install the Trilogy (single access key) on the same account. This would retain your current characters and make your current game keys obsolete.

2. Install the Trilogy (single access key) on a new account. This would give you two separate accounts to play on, but your current characters would not have access to the new areas.

Yes, I understand that, Darcy. What I'm wondering is if my original serial code will be wiped from the system so I can give it to someone else to use since I *did* buy two copies of the base game.

Still waiting for a response from the official site.

All keys are one time use only. Adding your Trilogy key to your current account will overwrite and replace it. But you will not get it back, cannot use it again.

Your other option is to start anew with another account. And keep/give away to friends your original account as is.

Nothing is ever wiped from the ArenaNet servers (except by rollbacks or Acts of God).

If you overwrite with the new key, you are still using the old account (existing characters etc.), you have just combined it with the new content.

Bummer; I was hoping they'd give me some leeway since I did actually purchase the base game twice. I'm still waiting response from the official site though so I'll keep my fingers crossed just in case.
